Today marks the first day of my journey with Rybelsus, I acquired from Online Pharmacy. Not referring, just information. My current weight stands at 14 stone 5 pounds, and my height is 5 feet 8 inches. I took my first tablet right when I woke up. I'm excited about this new chapter and would love for anyone interested to follow along. I plan to provide updates on my weight loss progress on a weekly basis, optimistically hoping for positive results. Joining this journey could be a great opportunity for us to share tips, experiences, and encouragement. I understand the importance of consistency and patience in this process, and I'm prepared for the ups and downs. It’s a step towards a healthier lifestyle, and I’m curious to see how Rybelsus will work for me. Let’s embark on this path together, sharing insights and supporting each other along the way.

So sorry to hear you're feeling rotten @KayliDzhener , were you anywhere near this poorly when you started 7mg? A lot of people on Reddit threads say they are in anti nausea meds as well, could be worth looking in to?
Hope it passes quickly for you.

KayliDzhener · 16/10/2023 21:54

I have ginger tablets and guardium for the heartburn. Yes it was the same on 7mg but I didn't have to work then so I think I slept through most of it. Today I had a meeting at 9.15 and was throwing up at 9am it was ok in the end.

IceCreamWoes · 18/10/2023 06:56

I should have my delivery tomorrow. I've read the thread but any tips I need to be aware of? I'm 5ft 5, BMI 28. The sickness and dirrohea doesn't sound great. I have a 90min commute so worried about that now.

Madonna · 18/10/2023 07:17

My tip is even if you are feeling queasy, you need to eat - have something simple like an apple. I found that not eating made me feel worse.

CrystalVision · 18/10/2023 08:53

I don't get much nausea but my tip is to drink a lot. I have been drinking yerba mate as fairly bland. 2-3 litres a day.

KayliDzhener · 18/10/2023 08:54

Day 4 I had nausea and heartburn all day yesterday and saw every hour on the alarm clock so no sleep. Day 5 today I have taken my tablet and now waiting to see if it stays down. I would be concerned about commuting too, luckily I WFH but even then I have missed a couple of days due to the overwhelming nausea. I work for myself three days so can just work the weekend if necessary. I have crispbread my my side to eat if I am really bad and can't summon the will to make toast. I have a breakfast meeting tomorrow at 7am so will have to leave at 6am so will skip tomorrow.

For me remembering to eat and drink is the biggest issue as there is zero hunger and when I am busy I can be sat at my desk for hours before I realise. I guess if you are out at work social queues remind you so you will be fine. I have never had diarrhea myself but understood that can be a side effect of eating something greasy.

Hi, everyone!

I’m on day one, 3mg rybelsus did anyone lose their appetite on this dose or did that only happen with 7mg ? I have 25kg to lose eeeeeek

tia

KayliDzhener · 18/10/2023 13:32

I lost my appetite from day 1 on 3mg the higher dose has made no difference to appetite, just worsened the side effects

LanaRay · 18/10/2023 16:41

I lost my appetite big style on 3mg then was so sick on 7mg at the beginning. Appetite has returned on month two of 7mg though I can control it most days. Have just ordered 3rd month of 7mg as can’t be ill next month or so so don’t want the side effects I think I could get on 14mg!

Alexa · 18/10/2023 18:22

I found my appetite went up on 7mg

MaryCruz · 18/10/2023 21:01

so... i'm meant to start 14 tomorrow - BUT i'm also having my coil replaced which is going to make me feel like shit - so do I skip a day?

how long after eating do you have to leave it before taking?

MaryCruz · 18/10/2023 21:03

This leads us to the question of what to do if we forget to take the drug prior to eating? The prescribing information recommends waiting until the following day to take the next dose if your time period prior to eating is missed.
If we also think about the half-life of this medication, it makes sense that we can get away with skipping the dose. The half-life is approximately a week. Even if a dose is missed, we are still going to have a significant amount of drug in the systemic circulation.

I think this means its ok to skip a day

CrystalVision · 18/10/2023 21:12

I have skipped a day ( hungover) with no effect.

KayliDzhener · 18/10/2023 21:39

I'm skipping tomorrow as I hAve a breakfast to attend at 7am and need to leavE At 6am. I have to commute for an hour and don't think it's wise as I will be driving and don't want to vomit all over myself!

MaryCruz · 19/10/2023 08:25

Well my apt has been cancelled due to staff levels, so here we are with 14!

If it goes well, I might skip day 3 (to save money) so tablet, tablet, skip

I was planning this too. Especially for maintenance if that proves necessary. Find the minimum amount of 14s that reduce cravings.

Madonna · 19/10/2023 13:13

I've got one more week of 7 before I move up to 14. I felt quite rough at the start of the 7 month, so am hoping that I am able to make sure that I drink and eat enough to stop that happening this time around. So far I have lost 10lbs in 3 months, which is ok, but after the first half stone which went straight away, has been slow going.

KayliDzhener · 19/10/2023 18:29

Skipping the tablet this morning did no harm, I gave felt great today ate a full English and am waiting on my Friday night takeaway.

you're meant to have no appetite!!!!

or thats the hope

KayliDzhener · 20/10/2023 08:32

It was nice to eat something, to be honest after 60 days of meh. To be fair I didn't have an appetite I just didn't want to look weird at breakfast. And my oh doesn't know I am doing this so I have half a burger and tell him I'm full. He loves hoovering up my left overs. I gained ,2 of a pound

MaryCruz · 20/10/2023 09:52

so day 2 of 14mg... no effect as yet?

I think our experiences have been the same so far. I haven't noticed much except a bit more willpower to stick to my diet plan. I am on 4 weeks on Monday. Two on 7, two on 14. Food was less appealing after about 5 days on 14. I am hungry but I don't want to eat. Quite like pregnancy. Probably lost 5lbs if I ignore the bloating/food weight initial loss. I am happy so far. Its controlling my cravings but allowing me to function normally and the weight loss is slow but steady. The only bad thing is drinking makes me feel sick. Two glasses of wine and I start to feel ill. If I push through it, then I get really bad nausea for days. Hang in there I think the slow steady is better in the long run. Like you I have another two months. Then taper off with the 7s I have left. Hopefully by then my bad snacking habit will be broken and stomach will have shrunk.

RachelGreensHair · 20/10/2023 12:20

Have placed my order today, will start after half term.

RubyRed · 21/10/2023 21:56

For those ordering via Safe Meds, how about I go about ordering the next strength? Do I place it as a repeat order and they move me up automatically or do I have to speak to someone?
