Rybelsus for Weight Loss

★★★★★

MaryCruz · 20/08/2023 08:39

Today marks the first day of my journey with Rybelsus, I acquired from Online Pharmacy. Not referring, just information. My current weight stands at 14 stone 5 pounds, and my height is 5 feet 8 inches. I took my first tablet right when I woke up. I'm excited about this new chapter and would love for anyone interested to follow along. I plan to provide updates on my weight loss progress on a weekly basis, optimistically hoping for positive results. Joining this journey could be a great opportunity for us to share tips, experiences, and encouragement. I understand the importance of consistency and patience in this process, and I'm prepared for the ups and downs. It’s a step towards a healthier lifestyle, and I’m curious to see how Rybelsus will work for me. Let’s embark on this path together, sharing insights and supporting each other along the way.

@CrystalVision so even though I felt bigger and bloated I didn’t put on weight (unless it’s on a catch up thing)! Last night I was truly unwell and my tummy is still sore today so I will defo be watching what I eat today. How are you finding 14mg? I don’t know if I could ever come off but suspect will be forced to due to supply issues!

CrystalVision · 19/12/2023 10:37

I did about 30 days on 14mg before taking a break. I didn't get side effects and I definitely noticed the difference in appetite and food/alcohol aversion. I don't respond very strongly but did lose 14lbs.

@MaryCruz oh no that’s not good especially due to cost! What is orlistat? A different brand?

Im still on 7mg but as mentioned I’d stopped as forgot to take tablets away. Anyway started taking again yesterday but continued to eat all day as I had done the last 4/5 days (basically rubbish, cakes bacon sarnie etc) and last night in the early hours I was so unwell (awful tummy cramp followed by upset stomach and then vomiting!) that will teach me I cant eat crap on these tablets!! Back to healthy eating today and have done a gym session!

orlistat is the 'fat binder' but it doesnt stop the hunger

Orlistat, sold under the brand name Xenical among others, is a medication used to treat obesity. Its primary function is preventing the absorption of fats from the human diet by acting as a lipase inhibitor, thereby reducing caloric intake.

StarlightDancer · 20/12/2023 06:50

So thought I’d join, I’m week 1 done today and I’m 5.2 pounds down in a week!
I’m on 3mg, I have no appetite really so have made sure I’m eating about 1800kcal a day so it doesn’t all pile back on quickly once off the tablets.

Ive had really gross breath though since starting it! Anyone else?

KayliDzhener · 20/12/2023 07:40

Welcome @StarlightDancer congratulations on the weightloss. Yes I have the bad breath. Also quite a thick sticky coating on my teeth and tongue which alters the taste of food, everything is extra sour. I use Airwaves Extra so I don't inflict this on people around me.

As of today I am in a new stone bracket the 14s. Having started in the 18s this is great. My BMI is down 10 points from 42.3 to 31.9. I will soon just be overweight.
I was 13,5 stone at Uni and a size 14, I felt very overweight then, it's weird what you get used too!

Hope everyone is doing well, I'm still on jury duty but we have a day off today due to a technical issue so can catch up on housework.

IronHeart · 20/12/2023 09:43

Hi can someone with better medical knowledge please confirm whether the medication warning posted on one of the ozempic threads yesterday (sorry don't know how to copy) means that our supply will be drying up immediately?

The document posted read as if the government is stopping private prescriptions to give priority to NHS patients effective immediately? I'm really hoping I've got that wrong.

IronHeart · 20/12/2023 09:44

IronHeart · 20/12/2023 09:45

I'm hoping I've managed to link it just now

Jinglybangly · 20/12/2023 10:18

Yes it does. I posted a few days ago asking what people planned to do with their last tablets eg taking half tablets or every other day etc.

People seem to think it is just an NHS issue or that it won't effect them. It's not the case, it is a world wide shortage.

Ah will have to look those up!

You have to eat less than 15grams of fat with a meal, or you get the orange oil leakage

I get them on prescriptions, and as I have a 3 month cert, I'm stocking up for when I am ready

IronHeart · 20/12/2023 10:48

Has anyone been informed by their pharmacy? A lot of the ozempic and saxenda user's have had contact from their providers offering alternatives, I haven't heard anything yet?

CrystalVision · 20/12/2023 13:24

I ordered some a week ago when it was in stock but delayed delivery until Saturday. I don't know if this means it won't be prescribed now. Hopefully it's been set aside

Where did you order from @CrystalVision the places I’ve used previously are all out of stock!

CrystalVision · 20/12/2023 15:25

Ajhill aesthetics/slimming4you. I think they are only supplying existing customers.

KayliDzhener · 20/12/2023 16:13

I just ordered from Safe Meds but they cancelled it said the NHS has told them only to supply to NHS prescription holders who are Diabetic. I found some in Pakistan but it was over $1000 a month. Numans says they are shipping next week so we will see. I still have six weeks supply

LanaRay · 20/12/2023 16:46

@CrystalVision ah I see, was it expensive?

@KayliDzhener Safe Meds is the first people I ordered from, they are saying no stock! I can’t order from Numan (though I think I’m on some sort of weird subscription with them which says it will be delivered 8th Aug?!). $1000 😳 that’s me out!!!! They are already double the price since when I first bought them and that’s bad enough!! Hope Numan come through for you!

CrystalVision · 20/12/2023 16:55

$440 for two months.

KayliDzhener · 20/12/2023 18:05

Yeah my Numans says despatching 28th July I think you enter into a monthly subscription with them until they say no more. Wether it arrives or not is another story. I had to send them my weight on Saturday as I can't download their app.

RachelGreensHair · 20/12/2023 18:35

Am losing weight and have had people comment on my weight loss! But am going to stop taking the pills, I feel so so nauseous all the time and it seems to be messing with my anti-anxiety medication :/

KayliDzhener · 20/12/2023 21:41

That's a shame, I stopped my Sertraline a couple of months before I started. Good luck with your journey

IronHeart · 21/12/2023 07:08

My Numan despatch date isn't until the 10/8 so I'm not very hopeful of it actually turning up.
I haven't had an email response from them either.

LanaRay · 21/12/2023 07:38

Sorry to hear @RachelGreensHair Tbh I think we’ll all be stopping the tablets soon! More and more articles about how private prescribers have to stop supplying just for weight loss.

yes you and me both @IronHeart

that’s a fair bit @CrystalVision but in comparison to prices I’ve seen not too bad I guess.

LoneWolf · 21/12/2023 09:29

Sorry to hear that @RachelGreensHair - this medication is definitely not for everyone and I'm on a few similar threads and have heard similar stories about bad reactions (from people on Saxenda and Ozempic).

I feel relieved I started on this stuff when I did as I've managed to lose a few kilos in the nick of time by the sounds of it if it's not going to be available via private prescriptions any longer. I have enough to keep me going for another month and then hopefully I have the motivation to keep going on my own especially as I am enjoying exercise a bit more now I'm lighter.

On other threads if people can't get their prescriptions they are going to move on to a supplement called berberine (claims to stabilise blood sugar) or orlistat (the stuff that can have some dodgy side effects - google it if you don't know).

I've ordered some berberine so will keep you posted when I start on it.
