Taking care of our health is one way to live a truly sexy life. Feeling good from the inside can create a since of well being, let alone more energy and stamina to engage in an active sex life.
One of the things I changed as a result of going through my cancer experience was eating more whole, unprocessed foods. I already considered myself to be a healthy eater but because the type of breast cancer I had a was estrogen dependent, this can be a tricky thing. I relied heavily on on processed soy products. You know, Tofurkey, soy based protein powders and bars — I’ve been a pescadarian (eat fish only) for 15 years and I was always worried about my protein intake. Yes, these products were even organic but soy is a phytoestrogen which most docs suggest that you curtail from your diet if you’ve had estrogen receptor positive cancer.
Funny enough at the same time, I head a friend who launched www.SimpleGreenSmoothies.com. So in addition to now eating organic poultry, I now do green smoothies made with fresh, organic whole foods. I’ve experienced lots more vitality (sexual and otherwise) and more energy than I ever did eating the processed soy foods. Here’s one of my “go to” recipes that I got from Simple Green Smoothies:
BERRY CHERRY JUBILEE
ingredients
2 cups spinach, fresh
2 cups water
1 cup cherries, pitted
1 cup mixed berries
1 banana
– Serves 2 –
Directions
Blend spinach and water until smooth. Next add the remaining fruits and blend again.
* Use at least one frozen fruit to make the green smoothie cold.
TIP: Make sure to remove cherry pits before blending. Sprinkle chia seeds on top for a light crunchy texture.
